HIGH

An ambitious and cinematic four-part series on the relationship between popular music and drugs. The series focus on weed, cocaine, speed, heroin, the psychedelics, MDMA, and opioids and explore the way in which each drug affects the way we listen to and make music, the positive impact as well as the destructive shadow. Featured directors will include Grant Gee, Nichola Bruce and Geoff Brown. Originally inspired by a book by rock writer and drugs consultant Harry Shapiro, and developed in collaboration with Christian Popp of Tag Films (Paris) and Susan Turley of XRM Media (LA) – the team behind Mark Kidel’s “Becoming Cary Grant”.

Developed with support from the European Union Media Programme.

ISABEL AND ALBERTO

A stirring story of passionate love and ground-breaking art. Made in collaboration with biographer and Tate Britain curator Carol Jacobi, the film will tell the story of the little known-30-year relationship, documented in intimate letters, between the artists Giacometti and the English painter Isabel Rawsthorne, one of Britain’s little-known treasures, often dismissed as a model and muse, when she was in fact a brilliant and innovative artist, who lived between Paris and England. She was the inspiration for Giacometti’s classic hyper-thin sculptures, as well as a major influence on her long-time friend Francis Bacon. The letters and writings of Alberto and Isabel will be read by Tchéky Karyo and Charlotte Rampling.

With an original soundtrack from Selma Mutal.
